For this community service I went to Father Joe’s Village and volunteered in the kitchens. I would go in, get the appropriate equipment on. Next, they would demonstrate how to make the meals. Then we would practice making a meal, and start serving the people. After the service we would clean up the kitchen and sign out. This service was very enjoyable and I hope to do more in the future.

This had been a challenging yet fun experience. I was able to interact with new people and create plates of food for others. This allowed me to leave my bubble which I’m used to for a new experience. Overall, I had fun and can’t wait to continue to volunteer at the center. When I volunteered there were 2 different kitchens I had helped at and with both I had different challenges and joys.
