During the first two weeks of September, Morse Key Club kicked off the 2020-2021 school year with a Free Rice service event! Free Rice is a mobile app that has participants play a multiple choice quiz game and with every correct answer, 5 grains of rice would be donated towards those in need via the United Nations World Food Programme. It’s an easy and free way to help achieve a solution towards global hunger.

As the school year approached, many new members had joined Morse’s Key Club. This event showed our new members what earning community service hours from home looks like! When asked about if they enjoyed this event, one of our newest members, Kilana Ocasio, responded “Yes! I enjoyed this event as it was fun and easy because all you would have to do was answer basic questions to help people in need. There was also a COVID-19 category that was very educational towards our current situation right now. I would definitely do this again!” One of our recurring members, Myko Rosal, was asked the same question and answered, “This was a fun service event! Anytime I was bored, I would pull out my phone and open up the application and plat for an hour straight. It was both fun and beneficial in that I was able to give back to my community by giving rice to those in need.”
